Abstract:

The subject of the doctoral dissertation focuses on the issues of interpretation of the category of childhood in autogynographic literary works. The choice of research material is dictated and justified by the specificity of autobiographical texts, through which we not only get to know the realities of the world depicted, located in specific time and space, but also look at it from the perspective set by the author-narrator-protagonist. As the basic texts to be analyzed, I chose three works: Wspomnienia by Maryla Wolska and Beata Obertyńska (ed. 1974), Była, byliśmy: wspomnienia by Irena Jurgielewiczowa (ed. 1997) and Topografia myślenia by Joanna Kulmowa (ed. 2001). Taking into account the time of writing these works and the types of literary images of childhood they contain, these texts can be treated as representative illustrations of the transformations in the ways of interpreting by the authors their earliest years. The aim of the study is to analyze the ways of presenting childhood in autogynographic literary works. In accordance with the tendency of the interdisciplinary approach there are also analyzed social and cultural phenomena that determine the shaping of the understanding of the category of a child (now and in the past) and the work of memory (especially autobiographical memory) as the basis for constructing the narrative identity of women in the practice of recreating their own childhood.

Problematyka rozprawy doktorskiej skupia się wokół zagadnień interpretacji kategorii dzieciństwa w utworach autogynograficznych. Wybór materiału badawczego podyktowany i uzasadniony jest specyfiką tekstów autobiograficznych, poprzez które nie tylko poznajemy realia związane z usytuowaniem świata przedstawionego w czasie i przestrzeni, ale przede wszystkim przypatrujemy się mu z perspektywy wyznaczonej przez autorkę-narratorkę-bohaterę. Jako podstawowe teksty poddawane analizie wybrałam trzy prace: Wspomnienia Maryli Wolskiej i Beaty Obertyńskiej (1974), Byłam, byliśmy: wspomnienia Ireny Jurgielewiczowej (1997) oraz Topografię myślenia Joanny Kulmowej (2001). Biorąc pod uwagę czas powstawania tychże utworów i zawarte w nich rodzaje literackich obrazów dzieciństwa, teksty te traktować można jako reprezentatywne ilustracje przeobrażeń sposobów interpretowania przez autorki swych najwcześniejszych lat życia. Celem pracy jest analiza sposobów przedstawiania dzieciństwa w utworach autogynograficznych. Zgodnie z tendencją podejścia interdyscyplinarnego analizowane są zjawiska społeczne i kulturowe, które determinują kształtowanie się pojmowania kategorii dziecka (współcześnie oraz w przeszłości) oraz praca pamięci (w szczególności autobiograficznej) jako podstawa konstruowania narracyjnej tożsamości kobiet w praktyce odtwarzania własnego dzieciństwa.
