The presented dissertation characterizes the results of research conducted in the area of threats created by the Russian Federation to the security of Central and Eastern European states and their consequences. The main objective of the dissertation is to identify and characterise the threats created by the Russian Federation and to assess their consequences for the security of Central and Eastern European states. In the introduction to the dissertation, the research area of the dissertation was presented, the topic and the nature of the work and the purpose of the work were specified and justified. The first chapter entitled "Methodological basis of the dissertation" outlines the problem situation, defines the subject of the research, formulates the main research problem and the specific problems. The dissertation is structured according to universal methods of constructing theoretical knowledge, primarily induction, which allows conclusions to be drawn from the source material obtained, and - less frequently - deduction, which allows the hypotheses set to be verified using arguments extracted from the sources. The chapter discusses the research process, presents the limitations and assumptions of the research, the working hypothesis and evaluates the literature used in the study. The structure of the dissertation is presented and the contents of the subsequent chapters are characterised. The second chapter entitled 'Threats to international security' presents the theoretical aspects of threats to international security.The third chapter, entitled 'Genesis and evolution of Russian threats to the security of Central and Eastern Europe', is divided into three subchapters. The fourth chapter, entitled 'Russian Federation's actions in the international arena in 2014- 2022 and the resulting threats to the security of Central and Eastern European states', is divided into three subchapters. The fifth chapter, entitled 'Security projections by the Russian Federation and their consequences for the security of Central and Eastern European states in the 2022-2023 perspective', is divided into four subchapters. The conclusion presents a fundamental reflection on the threats created by the Russian Federation to the security of the Central and Eastern European states, their characteristics and consequences.
