Abstrakt:

The volume Walls and Bridges in Anglophone Literature and History brings together six essays that explore the ways in which boundaries are constructed and transgressed within English-speaking cultures, both in literal and figurative terms. The imagery of walls and bridges functions not only as a unifying theme but also as an analytical lens through which the authors address issues related to power relations, identity formation, ideological frameworks, and processes of change. Although the chapters cover a wide range of historical periods, literary forms, and geographical contexts, they are connected by a shared focus on historical, textual, and symbolic structures that both connect and separate individuals, communities, and nations.
