Abstract:
During the ongoing discussions related to the introduction of a new subject, health education, to schools, it is worth paying attention to the voice coming from the academic community. It is necessary to emphasize not only that the issue of health in education is not a new topic, but also that it is interdisciplinary in nature. The presented common ground for health education, resocialization and prevention that unites them should be treated as a theoretical background, the use of which may transform into the creation of pro-health attitudes among children and adolescents and effective compensation/correction of problematic behaviors. The article presents the results of research conducted in a group of 647 future educators. The study was quantitative in nature. The aim of the analysis was to recognize the importance that students attribute to health education. The results of the research allow us to conclude that health education is perceived by future educators as an important area of knowledge. Students want to develop their competences and qualifications in this area. Recognizing its importance both in the context of taking care of their own health and the potential for implementation in future professional work. These are important indications for work on health education.
