Abstrakt:

The article is devoted to the study of the functions of Russian reflexive verbs from two posi-tions: from the perspective of the speaker (lexical-semantic approach) and from the perspective of the listener (constructive approach). In the first case, the functions of such verbs are established in their relation to constructions that are correlative in meaning with the original non-reflexive verbs. If we take the position of a listener who needs to determine the meaning of a potentially ambiguous reflexive verb, then the situation turns out to be much more complicated. The decisive role here is played by the meaning of the verb.
