 abstract={Prezentowana praca przedstawia uwarunkowania środowiskowe lokalizacji i funkcjonowania antycznego miasta Nea Pafos na Cyprze w okresie IV BC - IV AD (studium geoarcheologiczne). W pierwszej części przedstawiono ogólną charakterystykę fizycznogeograficzną obszaru (geologia, tektonika, rzeźba i jej ewolucja w czwartorzędzie, klimat, stosunki wodne, szata roślinna, świat zwierzęcy, przemiany antropogeniczne) oraz system osadniczy Nea Pafos (IV BC-IV AD). W drugiej przedstawiono cel i metody badań, terenowe, laboratoryjne i kameralne. W kolejnej części omówiono wyniki badań doliny Ezousas (studia off site), regionu Pafos (studia on site) oraz badań georadarowych. Następny rozdział dotyczy warunków środowiskowych i ich wpływu na lokalizację i funkcjonowanie starożytnego miasta (typologia, regionalizacja, waloryzacja). Ostatni rozdział stanowią wnioski podkreślające przemiany środowiskowe na obszarze on site i off site.},
 abstract={The presented work presents the environmental conditions of the location and functioning of the ancient city of Nea Paphos in Cyprus in the period IV BC - IV AD (geoarchaeological study). The first part presents the general physico-geographical characteristics of the area (geology, tectonics, relief and its evolution in the Quaternary, climate, water conditions, vegetation, animal world, anthropogenic changes) and the settlement system of Nea Paphos (IV BC-IV AD). The second part presents the purpose and methods of research, field, laboratory and office work. The next part discusses the results of the Ezousas Valley (off-site studies), Paphos region (on-site studies) and GPR research. The next chapter deals with environmental conditions and their impact on the location and functioning of the ancient city (typology, regionalization, valorization). The last chapter is composed of conclusions emphasizing environmental changes in the on-site and off-site areas.},
