Search for: [Abstract = "T. Piskorski was one of the most important figures that shaped the Polish youth movement in the first half of the 20th century. Under the partitions he belonged to the leading figures of the National Youth Organization, the Polish Youth Union “Zet” and scouting. In the Second Republic he worked in the student movement as one of the leaders of the academic “Zet” and the Union of Polish Democratic Youth. He was one of the initiators of the creation of the Association of Seniors of the National Youth Organization \(later – the Association of Seniors of the National Youth Organization and the Union of Polish Democratic Youth\). He was among the leaders of the Polish Scouting Association. He was also a chronicler of the history of the “Zet” and scouting. After the outbreak of WW II, he participated in the September campaign. Taken captive by the Soviets, he was imprisoned in a camp in Starobielsk and murdered in April 1940. Since 1915, Piskorski has kept diaries, which are a report on his activities in the Polish student movement and scouting. During the Warsaw Uprising, most of them were destroyed. The saved notes \(about 3700 p.\) were found only a few years ago by the descendants of Piskorski. They are currently being prepared for publication by Piskorski’s grandson, Tomasz Chlebowski, who donated the originals to the Archiwum Akt Nowych."]
