The issues related to climate change have been in the center of public interest for over a dozen years. The survival of a plethora of flora and fauna species and the quality of human life has become the main axis of political dispute, both at national, international and global levels. All existing conflicts, juxtaposed with the current pace of climate change and environmental degradation, may become irrelevant, prosaic, trivial, concerning the fundamental issue\: life or its disappearance on Earth. The book shows the current state of the environment and its impact on the well\-being of societies. The first part focuses on measures that may prevent negative climate change. It was found that all efforts to protect nature are and will be noble, but ineffective as long as relevant international political and legal actions will not be taken. Those actions should be followed by a force capable of enforcing pro\-ecological solutions. Moreover, market rules, through fiscal policy, must make an anthropogenic impact on the environment economically unprofitable. In the further part of the considerations, the biological, chemical and physical factors that may be dangerous for humans are elaborated. Those enter the natural circulation as a result of human activity. The final chapter describes the effects of imbalance in the natural environment and its impact on large social groups who, in order to survive, are forced to leave their places of residence and start migrating. The authors, being aware of their limitations, considered it their duty to share their observations on the effectiveness of the global environmental policy."]
